Developing A New Attitude

Did you ever notice that the most successful people are always very positive and they don’t let things very powerful energy that they have inside of them that bother them for very long? How do they do that? The answer is that there is a makes it easier for them to turn away from negative things and toward more positive things. Some people are born with this ability but some people have to work at it to achieve it. Unfortunately, most people don’t have it and find it too hard to get it for themselves. This is because it takes real perseverance and effort over a long period of time to develop a new attitude about life. Here are some tips for getting started and doing whatever you can to stick to your plan.

The most important thing about developing a new attitude is to first recognize that your attitude is bad to begin with. Most people don’t want to admit this anyway so their plan never gets off the ground. Admitting that you don’t have such a great attitude is probably the most significant part of your future plan because it will help you to be able to see what you need to work on. Once you have admitted that you need help, you will be willing to try some new things like going to a group or taking up a new hobby to improve yourself. From there, you will gain some extremely positive ideas that can help you to develop an even better plan for the future.

After you have decided to create a new attitude for yourself, you can also make a commitment to finally improve yourself in some area that you had always wanted to improve but never had the courage to do so. Some people decide to take a public speaking course such as Toastmasters and others decide to take up drawing or painting. You can join a self-help group or begin to do formal meditation or yoga to improve yourself. Any of these things will help and they will all lead you to more ideas that could later be added to your list once you have begun. It is important, however, to have a long term goal and to stick to that overall plan in some sense. Otherwise, your plan to develop a new attitude might fall by the wayside as soon as you meet your first new friend or decide that you would rather go shopping with your group members instead of practicing your yoga routine!

A long term plan is one of the hardest things for people to stick by but it is paramount to developing a sincerely new attitude. Major changes to a person’s attitude don’t happen overnight so there must be a dedication to stay on the task and keep improving your plan over the long term. Eventually, over a period of many months or even years, you will find that you have become a completely different person from who you used to be. You no longer will feel depressed at all and you will never feel scared or worried about anything. This is true! It is really possible to eliminate all the negative emotions from your life if you truly want to. Say goodbye to fear, grief, shame and guilt forever. They are useless emotions that don’t help anyone at all! You can learn to weed these emotions out of your life over the long term and eventually enjoy a more happy and fulfilling life.

As the saying goes, “Many are called but few are chosen” and this is your big chance to choose yourself as a person who is going to turn their life around and make something better of themselves. Getting serious at the onset is the most important part of the long term plan. How much of a serious heart do you have in you? Can you trust yourself to stick by a plan, even the smallest of plan, for a long period of time? How much can you depend on yourself to follow through and do this great task that you are setting in front of yourself? It is all up to you 100% and nothing can stop you if you are indeed very serious. Developing a new attitude can be the greatest goal a person ever makes for themselves and it can be the beginning of the best thing you have ever done. Make the move now and make it for keeps! You can do it!

Developing A Mansion Mindset?

Have you ever wondered why you may still feel miles away from living the life you so deeply desire? You have been taking inspirational workshops, reading self-development books, and attending church and hearing The Word in all of its power, yet it still feels like God’s promise is on the other side of a glass window you can’t seem to get through? Yes, you’ve experienced success, but you know God has something much bigger for you, you just can’t quite figure out how to get from here to there. It’s time for you to open up to your Mansion MindsetTM!.

John 14:2 reminds us that “In My Father’s house are many mansions,” yet many of us are only living in apartments, condos, and houses. While a mansion allows you to be clear about where your mind currently is in developing the fullness of the Mansion Mindset God intended for you, it goes far beyond wealth and material possessions to unlocking God’s promise for your life in all areas. While you might hear the word, “mansion” and think of a large home, I want to open the bounds of your mind to fully grasp what it is God has for you.

A mansion, by definition, is at least 7,000 square feet and is built by an architect exclusively for you. I found record of 60,000 square foot mansions on 300 acres of land. Mansions are more than just one large building, they are villas or estates with everything from ballrooms, multiple kitchens, game rooms, theaters, sun rooms, morning rooms, breakfast rooms, pantries, countless bathrooms and bedrooms, gymnasiums, arts and crafts rooms, staff living space, and of course, an extensive library. And these are just the typical rooms. There are also sewing rooms, packing rooms, boathouses, guest houses, and drawing rooms.

Can you just feel your mind expanding? What rooms do you need in your mansion? What do you need God to provide for you so you can carry out the fullness of His vision for your life? I need a spa and my own beauty salon. I need a helicopter landing pad to take me to my private jet so I don’t have to worry about traffic as I go to my international speaking engagements. My daughter needs her own classroom so we can bring a tutor in any time she needs additional help in school. Where is your mind in conceiving what God can do for you?

Forget what your world looks like today and allow yourself to faithfully imagine what it could be like if only you could take the limits off of God. The mansion I have on my vision board is 12,000 square feet and I realized that I was still containing what I thought God can do for me. S-T-R-E-T-C-H. 15,000 square feet. S-T-R-E-T-C-H. 20,000 square feet. S-T-R-E-T-C-H. 60,000 square feet. Yes, that is the size I need to have the overnight rooms for my guests who will be attending my seminars and the auditorium that will be on my property for my speaking engagements. S-T-R-E-T-C-H. I can see breakout classrooms and a dance hall for after-hours entertainment for my guests. S-T-R-E-T-C-H your mind and allow yourself to see it, feel it, taste it. What do you believe God for?

It’s time to release the lies and small thinking from your past that have held you back from really living your vision. “Why you?” You may ask…”Why NOT you?” And don’t stop at just one mansion. God has many mansions for you if you would only believe in Him. Believe that He will provide for you if you step out on faith and begin to bring forth His divine work in your life. Believe that He will bless you with a life partner who aligns with all God has called you to do and evokes the King or Queen in you. Believe God beyond what you have ever allowed yourself to believe him for in the past. He will show up…if you just believe.

Once you commit to living God’s vision for your life, to clear out the old from your heart, and to develop your Mansion MindsetTMyou are literally unstoppable. If you are ready to develop and achieve your Mansion MindsetTM, here are some steps for you to follow:

Detours On The Path Of Life

The other day I was clearing out my home office in preparation for our upcoming move, when I stumbled upon a box of supplies left over from an old business opportunity I had undertaken several years ago. It was a perfectly fine business opportunity, but it wasn’t for me. Looking back, I knew even then that it wasn’t right for me, but I had determinedly ignored my inner voice and pursued it anyway.

As I sorted through this box of paperwork and supplies, I felt my face flame with embarrassment and regret. How could I have been so stupid to think I could ignore my true calling and pursue another path because it seemed easier at the time? Evidence that revealed how hard I had tried to make it work was strewn throughout the box: records of appointments and training classes I’d attended, brochures I’d designed, sales letters I had painstakingly written, and even motivational notes I’d written to encourage myself to keep going.

It’s an uncomfortable feeling, facing a box full of regrets. I thought about all the time I’d wasted on that business opportunity, and wondered where I’d be today if I had just listened to my inner calling from the beginning.

As I began emptying the box and shredding old paperwork, I began to feel a little lighter and my thoughts began to drift. Was the time I spent on that business opportunity really wasted? In hindsight, I can see that it wasn’t. I learned so much from that experience, some of it having to do with business – but mostly about myself. Even though it wasn’t my true calling, I would still have to acknowledge that it was time well-spent. I simply took a detour on my life path. Perhaps my reasons (fear and denial) weren’t the most lofty, but the experience was no less valuable.

Perhaps you have a box full of regrets hidden in your closet, even if only on an emotional level. Do you regret jobs you’ve held in the past, or relationships you clung to even when they didn’t seem to contribute anything of value to your life? Do you wish you had gone to college when you were younger, or do you wish you had chosen another major? Are there choices you made in the past that make you cringe with embarrassment now?

Most of us have a tendency to be really hard on ourselves, expecting perfection and nothing less. But it’s unrealistic to expect ourselves to make perfect decisions every single time. There are too many unknown factors that could come into play, and even when we’re absolutely sure we’re making the right choice, it might not turn out the way we expected.

When you stop to think about it, there really aren’t any right or wrong decisions in life. Each choice simply moves us down a different path, and we can learn something valuable from each of them. Just because something didn’t work out like we thought it would doesn’t mean it wasn’t worthwhile.

However, in my experience, the journey becomes much more enjoyable if we take the time to listen to our heart. When we let our inner voice guide us to the choices that feel most right, that’s when the real magic begins to happen. Our lessons become richer and more meaningful. We feel a sense of excitement and inspiration as we embark on a new pathway with each choice we make. Even our “mistakes” seem more valuable, if not downright funny. We can laugh at our foibles and learn from them. Most importantly, we realize that the journey itself is the destination.

As the saying goes, “hindsight is 20/20”. Our vision is much clearer when we look back with the knowledge we have today. But if we always had the ability to see the big picture, wouldn’t that defeat the purpose of a life spent learning and growing? We’re not supposed to have all the answers right now. I think many of us tend to forget that from time to time.

My box of regrets is gone now, and in fact, I no longer see them as regrets. Instead, I’ve got a big empty box that I’m eager to start filling with new experiences. Will I look back and feel red-faced about them at a future time? Possibly. Or maybe I’ll simply smile and be grateful for the chance to learn and grow some more. 🙂
