Leipoa (l&iuptack_;pō&adot_;), n. [NL.] (Zoöl.) A genus of Australian gallinaceous birds including but a single species (Leipoa ocellata), about the size of a turkey. Its color is variegated, brown, black, white, and gray. Called also native pheasant.
