Jigger (j&ibreve_;gg&etilde_;r), n. [A corrupt. of chigre.] 1. (Zoöl.) A species of flea (Tunga penetrans, or Sarcopsylla penetrans, or Pulex penetrans), which burrows beneath the skin; called also jigger flea. See Chigoe.
