Explode (&ebreve_;ksplōd), v. i. [imp. & p. p. Exploded; p. pr. & vb. n. Exploding.] [L. explodere, explosum, to drive out, drive out a player by clapping; ex out + plaudere, plodere, to clap, strike, applaud: cf. OF. exploder. See Plausible.] 1.
