Use Real Life Experiences in Your Writing

Growing up I can remember many English teachers telling us to write using a memory or experience we went through. If you’ve ever attended a writing class you’ve probably heard the phrase, “write what you know,” more than once from an English professer. Hearing that advice, I immediately processed my life, and realized it was not exciting enough to write about. Many years past before I realized that I could use different experiences in my life. . Certain moments could be drawn back on to write about a similar experience perhap with a character. Using real life experience should only be done if it applies to the story. If there is a certain memory or feeling that you can convey in your story, and it fits, that’s when you should use your memories and feelings.

Many authors have done just this. Remember Stephen King, when he got into a car accident, he used that experience and wrote Misery.

Anne Rice is another example. In one of her books a vampire becomes human again and the detail of him eating food for the very first time is amazing. Where do you think these authors got such detail and feeling? They tapped into their own memories and wrote about it.

Using life events makes your story or novel more realistic to the reader. Think about strong moments or memories you may have, think about how you felt. How would your character feel if something similar happened to them? Think aboutt how you felt, what you were thinking etc. If you do use real life experiences in your novel, make sure the story benefits from it. If you can’t fit it in to your plot smoothly, don’t.

By using real life experiences in your writing you’ll not only connect with your readers, you’ll also make your characters more realistic.

Get Rich Quick? Apply A Little Bit Of Common Sense If You Are Searching For A Livelihood Using The Internet.

Somebody some time ago said – “Today, the greatest single source of wealth is between yours ears”. Well considering the amount of individuals who fall for Work From Home schemes, you would conside that they were altogether mentally bankrupt upstairs. There are no get rich easy answers, unless you win the lotto, or a certain long lost aunt bestows her millions to you. So when you see ads for “Make money working from home”, or “make thousands running your Internet Business”, certainly have a look at what is proposed, but use your common sense when thinking about working for these firms.

Don’t get these firms muddled up with Franchising Companies. Most Franchises are reputable enterprises. They will be searching for people with skills in specific areas of commerce and with some cash to buy into a new or existing franchise enterprise. What we are discussing here is envelope stuffing, product building, Data entry, reading books, typing and Online Jobs where little education or skills are needed. Frequently it’s one of two schemes – you either have to purchase your parts and when you send off your completed handiwork, you never hear from them again, or your handiwork doesn’t meet their “stringent” quality standards, and you don’t get rewarded. Or it’s a pyramid selling scheme so the money is brought about by recruiting other individuals.

By sticking to a few basic principles you can avert a lot of grief –

1. Don’t trust everything you read. Rarely do ads reflect the reality about an appointment or the company that is hiring staff. This is particularly true if the company is an Internet Business with no real property. Call them and ask to talk to the managing director or head of personnel.

2. Be sure about who you are working for. It could be yourself!! If you are going to Work From Home doing manual work, or if you get one of these Online Jobs where you are entering data etc, confirm who is paying you. Is it the firm you originally contacted, or are they just making an opportunity for you and you find that you are in fact self-employed.

3. Check that the product or service is in fact wanted out there. If it is an Internet Business, are there other contenders. Who are the customers and are there any reviews or blogs about the kind of business. Just because a firm may say they will instruct you and send you notes to learn from, doesn’t indicate their product is any good. Would you purchase it? If not, then have second thoughts.

There are a lot of schemes out there. It does make individuals looking for Online Jobs very skeptical, but if you research your future new company properly and make sure that you get a suitable employment contract, then there is no reason that you can’t Work From Home and receive good money. Just bear in mind that it is very rare to get something for nothing. So if the situation is very superficial and needs little training or earlier experience then you won’t get paid handsomely and there will be thousands of other individuals thinking they could do that job too.

The more a new job hinges on training, on education and on earlier work experience, the more liable it will be a genuine opportunity and that the financial returns will be more rewarding for the effort you put in.
