It's kinda retarded, but up direction on the joystick is forward, down is reverse, Y is turn left, X is turn right, A is Turbo, B is sound effect, the direction pad is another sound effect, and so is the C-stick. There is no L/R or start buttons.

and i forgot to say... you now the radio control looks like a gamecube controller. how do you move mario around in the kart? e.g. A button to accelerate

Actually, it did. I've really been through THREE Mario Kart RC cars while making this film, but hey, they were free replacements because they were under a 60 day warranty after every return!
