HAFF 2008 Leader - Pete Bishop & Lee Wilson Wolfe
The leader for Holland Animation Film Festival's 2008 edition. Credits go to Pete Bishop and Lee Wilson Wolfe (UK). Directors note - Pete Bishop The HAFF titles had to reflect the brand, its very intimate character, its sense of fun, surprise and warmth, the fairground atmosphere and the wonders of animation. A scary brief. My first ideas though liked by Gerben I found boring whilst I was on holiday and so I went back over other experiments and remembered a film test of Lee's of a robin that he had done while we were doing the sound FX for How to Destroy the World. His garden is close by and he feeds various animals who almost queue up. Lee was up for some fun so we tested the idea, replacing the bread with the symbols of love, luck, death and the HAFF Joost Swarte man. All to be eaten joyously by the robin like the audience consumes the films. And a soundtrack full of displaced horror and abstract imaginings also by Lee wearing his other hat with Ged his co-composer. Oh and a dying fly to pull some attention to the logo... and encouragement from HAFF along the journey. Created by Lee Wilson Wolfe and Pete Bishop. Sound design by Adamsonwolfe.com. Music by Ged Adamson and Lee Wilson Wolfe. Post by The Shop, London. DeathBird's hat made and supplied by BishopWolfe hats for small animals and snails. Skull supplied by Microskulls - tiny human skulls for film and television. Catering by - Trill bird food and snacks.
