You can see by the final few shows of Season 7 what living on the run finally did to Shane. With no money, no help from Vic and no friends to help, it was bad to see his self destruction into a junkie that took the life of his kids. If Vic did try to make a run for the border or to see Corinne, I would guess Mackey would go down in a hail of bullets rather than be taken alive.

I don´t understand why everybody her says Vic is evil and so on. Who the hell cares about people like Margos, Guerdo and the rest of the gangbangers. Terry deserved to be killed, because he couldn´t keep his mouth shot. After whatching all seven season of the shield I still think that the only evil thing Vic did was sending Ronnie to prison.

I assumed he needed his gun to protect himself from all the enemies he accumulated through the years, or when he saw the police cars go by he was contemplating going to help his former comrades in arms. We'll never know. Thanks!

At the end. Did Vic leave ICE.???? Did he plan on going to Mexico or something like that. I mean he couldnt go to Mexico cause the cartel would kill him. Right..??When Vic grab his gun, it made me think he was going to run away.

You raise some great points! That final confrontation scene between Claudette and Vic in the barn has become my favorite scene of the entire series. It revealed Vic's true legacy of corruption and betrayal. Thanks for your comment!

I didn't like that ending at all, for various reasons. Many people work excruciating desk jobs, and some people can't see their kids due to issues with the ex. You survive those things. I can see where Shawn Ryan was coming from there but Vic deserved prison, or worse. he basically killed Shane when he taunted him about never seeing his children again. Unlike some viewers I found no redeeming qualiies in Vic. Except when he paid for Connie's funeral. God bless CCH Pounder, man I love her LOL.

A fitting ending for one of the most underrated and best shows ever. Vic all alone. Man i'm going 2 miss this show...i already do.
