Fruity Pebbles Berry Blue Commercial

Let's take a trip back to the early 90s. There were a lot of fads back then: fanny packs, New Kids on the Block, shoes with pumps in them for no reason at all, and blue food. Yes, the addition of blue to our menus is worth mentioning because there was a time when food was never blue, even M&Ms didn't come in blue.I don't know who started the trend (I think it may have been ICEE) but suddenly a color reserved for cleaning fluids was edible. EVERYTHING turned blue. Candy, popsicles, cereal, soda-pop, gum, they were all availible in "New Berry Blue!"... not blueberry, mind you; BERRY BLUE.These new blue confections were supposedly raspberry flavored, despite the notable fact that raspberries are red. What was the point? The point is, we ate that shit up, both figurativly and litteraly. We bought anything blue just for the novelty of eating something that dyes your tongue a color it's never been before.Blue foods still exist today, they're still called berry blue, and they still taste nothing like raspberries. This is a commercial for Fruity Pebbles when they introduced blue to their cereal line-up.It seems cute and clever but in addition to every product going blue, they all used the same Blues musician schtick.
