The Build Team quickly discovered that human speed was nowhere near fast enough to slap the bullet so they powered up the rig to slap at superhuman speed. The hand managed to slap the bullet, but it wasn't powerful enough to significantly change the bullet's trajectory (it just cut the hand). This myth _realy_ is about slappign bullets with your hands.

The wiki page is under construction atm (someone messed with it) but if you look in the history of the page you'll see this text:The Build Team first set up a small scale test by firing paintballs at Tory and seeing if he could slap the paintballs away. During the test, Tory proved that human reflexes were fast enough to flap away a paintball. They then constructed a rig that would mimic a human hand making a slapping motion and used it to try and slap bullets fired from a 9 mm handgun.

-cough cough- i said...if i SWORD can reflect a bullet. Not a bare hand...
micks1649 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
i went to the page, and it DID show about a person swatting a sword but with a HAND. This myth is to do with if a SWORD can or as in can a human reflect it but with a sword, not just a hand.

It's been a while actualy. They tested it in episode 103 and the last episode (aired this week) was episode 130. Episode numbering is different in the different regions of the world (America, Europe,...) and is quite confusing. It could be that Naaloq had S1-6 on DVD but maybe it's not on there.More info on past (and upcoming) episodes on english Wikipedia. Search for 'List of Mythbusters episodes' and you'll find the page.

yeah did they just test it? or...cause naaloq said he/she has season 1-6 and said they didnt do it yet.
bubliximvu (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)

Muscleduck (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
They tested it:Production nr: 103Episode nr: 087Season 06 episode 05: Myth Evolution: Can a ninja deflect a bullet with his palm?
micks1649 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Yes! Thank u! I thought so too. I never seen this myth before, and if they did do this myth, they would've probably done it on the "ninja" myths episode. Thanks! :)
