Tucker Bounds and David Shuster on John McCain"MSNBC Live" TRANSCRIPTIONDAVID SHUSTER: Sarah Palin said today that it's Barack Obama's responsibility to rein in Acorn. How is it his responsibility and what specifically does the McCain-Palin ticket--I mean, what's the big issue? What's the specific issue you're complaining about with Acorn?TUCKER BOUNDS: Well there are two reason I think that he should take the responsibility and rein in Acorn. The first of which is that we've extended an offer and this is the second time we've extended it to the Obama campaign for us to work collaboratively, make sure that this is an honest and fair election. We wait eagerly to hear their response about joining together and monitoring poll operations and be able to work an election day scenario that's honest and truthful. The second part is that I think when you look at Barack Obama's affiliations with Acorn as well as the $830,000--nearly a million dollars he's paid to that organization for electioneering activities--some of this is incumbent on him to make sure that this group is behaving better and I think the third reason--SHUSTER: But Tucker wasn't that--BOUNDS: Hold on, David. The reason that we're very concerned about this is that every voter deserves to be heard. Every voter deserves to have the integrity of their vote maintained and I believe that everyone has a vested interest in making sure that election day is honest and fair. SHUSTER: [W]asn't the money that Barack Obama helped Acorn with, wasn't that ten years ago and wasn't his work with Acorn when he was a community adviser who was simply doing sorta leadership training and some of their other activities.BOUNDS: No, no. I understand there's a lot of information flying around out there, David. So let me clarify a few facts here. It was during the primary process when they issued a check that was nearly $1MM paid directly to a group that's working for Acorn, doesn't have any employees. They're all shared and assimilated. We are talking about Acorn. So a million dollars paid to that group in the last year for electioneering activities I think warrants some bit of responsibility be taken by the Obama campaign [...]. This is lawlessness. This is illicit activity that these people are engaged in. They're being investigated in virtually every target state and I think every voter, every American has a vested interest to make sure Barack Obama is called to the carpet and reins in this group a bit.[...] BOUNDS: These are partisan people that are working on behalf of Barack Obama to register and get out the vote. [...] SHUSTER: [I]f it's unconscionable what Acorn is doing and what they have been doing, as you said, then why is it that John McCain delivered a keynote speech at an immigration rally in Miami that Acorn sponsored in 2006?BOUNDS: They're completely unrelated. They're completely unrelated events. He was at a rally that was supporting his legislation that was co-sponsored by four groups. [...] There were a lot of people that sponsored that and they were supporting on the legislation that he worked on Ted Kennedy with [sic].TB2 JM MSNBC 10-14-08 15.23 (JR#549)

The republicans should call their party Idiocrat, because you have to be below IQ 20 to even thinking voting for McPain. The whole ACORN thing is a desperate measure, they know they will loose, they are trying to come out with some excuses. Those fake people won't vote, because the do not exist. Tell palin this isn't a voting fraud, , this is just registration. Educate your people geez, Obama an arab?.

ACORN has been endorsed by dozens of Republican Congressmen, Senators, and Governers. In fact, there's a video from 2006 showing McCain speaking at an ACORN rally in Miami.

Tucker is such a hopeless fool. You gotta wonder why the McCain camp is so blind? He is not a good spoksperson. He just copmes across as sneaky. Poor republicans.

Cashmakessense (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
it's not "voter fraud". If anything, it's registration fraud.
SatNamTree (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Tucker Bounds actually believes Americans will accept that Obama is somehow responsible for the ACORN frauds, and that McCain now wants to "work collaboratively" to solve that fraud matter.I am very interesteing to known precisiely what McCain is proposing they do to fix this, other than "work collaboratively".
